ANIMAL RIGHTS IN BELARUS
Animalex specializes in legal issues regarding animals in our country. So far, we have chosen only dogs and cats as our priority, since we cannot yet cover all areas purely physically.
But we know about the existence of problems in many areas, and decided to share with you.
CATS AND DOGS: are considered the property of the owner under civil law. Neglected (those on the street without a master) are to be captured or shot. A “bad” owner may be fined for violating the rules of keeping a cat / dog, or he may be held liable for ill-treatment. There is no special responsibility for animals being thrown out or thrown to volunteers. Chipping is done only at will, and not all veterinarians have a chip-reading device.

ZOOS - special institutions for the maintenance of wild animals and birds. They are subject to special requirements by the Law "On the Animal World" and other decrees. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection and its units (inspections) monitor the proper maintenance. There are also nuances in the reception of animals, fixed by law. You can’t just take and bring an animal to the zoo.

CONTACT ZOOS - there are no special norms, which now allows them to be in the form in which they exist. The Ministry of Natural Resources also monitors. And then the “field is not plowed” for control and their prohibition.

DOLPHINARIES there are no special norms, there are international standards for content. I would like to draw attention to the fact that officially “dolphin therapy” does not exist (we even have an official answer from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus about this). And to call swimming in a narrow pool with animals that are kept in terrible conditions, at least stupid.

EXPERIMENTS ON ANIMALS are not prohibited in Belarus. Most of all, rats and dogs, possibly cats, fall into the experiments, but with them we do not know cases. The main consumer of dogs for experiments is the Belarusian Medical University - they have a vivarium, right in Minsk. Animals are kept there in terrible conditions.

These are just some of the aspects. In the future, the Animalex Center can work in all these areas. But so far we do not have resources even for simple appeals from citizens (therefore, we partially introduced payment for services).
