How to choose an Akita Inu puppy: specialist advice
After the resounding success of the film "Hachiko" Akita Inu is rapidly gaining popularity. Alas, this process most often badly affects the quality of the breed. Uncontrolled breeding begins to meet demand, and this leads to the appearance of dogs with physical and mental disabilities. Therefore, if you decide to opt for this breed, be very responsible for the choice of the breeder and the Akita Inu puppy itself. Visit the exhibition, get acquainted with all available information, consult a specialist - and only after that make the final decision.
Carefully study the documents, including the pedigrees of the parents. If possible, find out about the fate and qualities of puppies from previous litters.
You should not take Akita from a large litter or from where the cubs are heterogeneous. It is better to stay on a small litter (ideally - up to 5 babies) with approximately the same size puppies.
Small Akita well-fed (but without a bloated abdomen), funny, cheerful and curious, are not afraid of loud noises and do not show aggression. They will certainly take an interest in your personality, sniff, maybe taste, willingly join the game. Calmness and equanimity are acquired with age.
The coat of a healthy puppy is shiny, smooth, pleasant to the touch. Kids should not smell like feces or urine. The breed is clean, and an unpleasant odor should alert.
The eyes, ears, nose of the Akita Inu puppy should be clean, without secretions. If the puppy has just woken up, the nose can be dry and warm. But the awake puppy is cold.
There should not be ticks and fleas. If you see them - this nursery is clearly not the one you need.
